Community Radio gives a voice to voiceless, rights to those without, and power to the powerless.

Alternative for India Development (AID) has been experimenting with many pro-poor innovations of empowerment . Community radio is one such initiatives ; its aim is to bring the poor closer to the corridors of power to address the problems of poverty ,bad governance and lack of access to information. AID successfully harnesses the power of micro radio media by blending it with information and communication technology (ICT) to find new ways to solve old problems .


Launch of the First Community Radio Program in Jharkhand

A new chapter opened in the history of Jharkhand with the broadcast of the first ever community radio program in the region. On August 5th ,2001 the first episode Chala Ho Gaon Mein (Come ,let us go to village) was broadcast . The program has since continued and is expanding its influence in the most remote and inaccessible regions of Jharkhand.
