 Uniqueness Of the Program

Chala Ho Gaon Mein reaches a population of more than 7 million people covering Palamau, Garwah, and Latehar districts in Jharkhand as well as the bordering states of Chattisgarh, Bihar and UP. It is broadcast through the FM band of All India Radio (AIR), Daltonganj, Palamau every Sunday from 7:15 pm to 7:45 pm since 5th August, 2001. Due to popular demand, the program became biweekly, from 1st of May 2003. Today the program is on air every Wednesdays and Sundays. The show has successfully completed five years and more than 400 episodes on the air waves without interruption.

The uniqueness of the program is the local dialect of Maghi, a mixture of Bhojpuri and Hindi, used in the program. This dialect is typical of Palamau and Garwah districts of Jharkhand. It is untouched by any external influences. The technical team, the reporters, the script writers, actors, musicians, their instruments, all are from the local area. The untapped talent of the community has been explored and number of them have graduated into writing scripts for dramas, acting in dramas, writing songs and even narrating programs. The most important factor being that the issues dear to their lives and hearts has found a place in the program.
