What the programme is About

Reflecting the multifaceted nature of the problem, AID is interested to take up multi-sector and multi-year long term initiatives. However, in this phase, AID is intended to achieve the following desirable changes for tribes and their lives which are linked with forest.

Increase forest coverage of trees by 8%, 600 hectares
Protect a further 8%, 1200 hectares, of the forest from destruction
Self-sufficiency in food and income for the tribes
Connected with these major changes, as short term measures, the project is aiming to make a difference in the following areas:

Improve governance of community organisations

Increase family and community assets e.g. irrigation and water sources and storage structures
Increase shellac/lac production by 25%
Increase equal opportunities for women
