Strategic
and technical approach of the project
AID’s technical and strategic approach is grounded
strongly in the culture of Munda tribes.
 |
Identification and reinforcement of good
indigenous practices of the tribes on forest and community
management for self-sustainable development. |
 |
Greater stress on community self-help, mutual
help, community self-management and community governance
practices. |
 |
Revival and renewal of the sacred sites (Sarna)
and protecting and promoting sustainable forest management
practices. |
 |
Pro-tribal, pro-poor, pro-women, pro-forest,
pro-environment and pro-livelihood as the nucleus of the
strategy. |
 |
Articulation of voices of the poor, strengthening
of self-help forums of the tribes and their solidarity. |
 |
Promotion of gender equity, equality,
participation, inclusion of the poor and women and a right based
approach to sustainable development. |
| |
|
|
The approach to be used is evolving, learning,
knowledge and practice oriented. Lessons from experience are
the basis for propelling work forward. It is a purely community
and citizen led, locally managed and controlled initiative. |
