Area Vision and Mission: AID in partnership with Munda tribal forums, evolved the following vision and mission for the area. Vision Create Erky without poverty, illiteracy, ill-health, environment degradation and human insecurity. Mission Create perpetual opportunity for education, health, safe environment and secure and sustainable livelihood for poor Munda tribes. Objective Total empowerment of the tribes for human, social, natural, physical, economical and environmental capital building for sustainable improvements in the quality of life and livelihood. The project is primarily intended for Munda tribal families living in chronic poverty and food insecurity in 30 villages in the Erky block. These 30 villages were chosen as a model for similar other villages to experiment with community led sustainable development programs. However, the project also addresses larger problems linked with sustainable development with a focus on forests, there governance and government policies in Jharkhand State and India.
