Beneficiaries

Primary Stakeholders:

Distress women migrant workers and their families in the project region of Garhwa district are the direct beneficiaries. Migrants are identified in Gram Shaba meetings (village assembly) and PRA sessions. They are then engaged throughout the project cycle by means of project committee, participatory learning and planning sessions. The migrant forums and its federations are fully involved in the discussion on poverty-migration-gender and development process for drawing their perspectives and strategies for addressing distress migration.

Secondary Stakeholders:

Village panchayat leaders and village members are the secondary stakeholders. They too are identified in village meetings. They are involved because they are collectively influencing the life of the migrant families. They are integral part of the village system. Their participation is essential for building village infrastructure, land based and forest based actions proposed. They are engaged through the gram Sabha meetings, participatory sessions, village panchayat forums and its federations. Their views and ideas are taken on board through their engagement in planning, operation, assessment and lesson learning.
The other secondary stakeholders are Labour, Rural, Tribal, Revenue, Forest, Agriculture and other Line Departments, Block office, District administration, State government and Central governments. They are involved as they are the duty holders for implementing policies and programmes.
The other stakeholders are NGOs, human right, labour rights and women right groups, civil society networks and media. The project engages them to influence government policies and programs in favour of migrant labourers and their families. They help in raising awareness on the rights and entitlements of the migrant families and building up the solidarity and support from other stakeholders.
