AID
had profiled Garhwa case of distress migration by drawing the
people’s perspective of migration-poverty-gender-development
processes. It has assessed the skills and capacities of the people
to come out of the migration, poverty and discrimination cycle and
to accomplish the task of capacity development to direct
beneficiaries to make difference in their life.
It has build up partnerships, networking and collaborations with
local government, civil society organisations (labour, women and
human right groups) and media to raise awareness on the
poverty-migration-gender and development process and solicit their
support for influencing the policy and programmes on poverty.
AID has also assessed the resource requirements for addressing the
problem of distress migration. It has started lobbying with the
government to provide the required resources. |
