  • A local NGO Network has been set up recently through which a lot of information is being shared among various NGOs. AID is also a part of this network. The information sharing helps AID to avoid redundancy and to serve the people better in an effective way.

  • AID since identified the beneficiaries for its Micro-credit programme to help the affected people find their own employment through small business. Through this programme the beneficiaries are linked to various banks to get loans to start their own businesses.
8On 27th April, a Kabhadi tournament was organized at Silladi (Nagapattinam) followed by a Cycle Rally to encourage youth. The rally had started at Silladi temporary shelter and ended at Nagapattinam main bus stand covering a distance of 4 kilometers.
8Training on Disaster Management, Vocational skill training programme, etc. are given to the affected people. These types of programmes ensure that the beneficiaries are fully equipped with future contingencies and disasters.

  • Community-based Adoption Programme is to provide normal life environment to 100 orphaned children and single-parent children in both project areas. Relatives of these children are encouraged to bring them up in their respective communities. The Children grow in their relatives’ house and the relatives would be given counseling.
