AID has identified women who are
widows, destitute and depressed by the tsunami waves and youths who are left
with least future options. Among the women of the villages, 400 women have
been identified who are victims of tsunami especially those who are widowed
and deserted. For them training on tailoring and computers, food
processing and fish processing is being given. Among the youths the training
on motor mechanism, computers, four wheeler driving and boat repairing is
being given. Thus they are being supported for livelihood restoration. The following
vocational training schemes are being underway for providing livelihood to these women
and youths in the tsunami affected communities.

Skill Training:
AID carried out need
analyses in the tsunami affected villages jointly with the local communities
for identifying the skills to be imparted to the people for renovating their
community life. As result a vast range of skills were lighted upon and
