3. Hygiene
Sanitation and hygiene is yet another important aspect of relief operations. No effort was spared by the District Administration to ensure this. Towards this attempt bleaching powder was used extensively in all the affected areas to prevent the spread of disease. |

4. Mass Cleaning
The clearing of debris is an important prerequisite to rehabilitating the affected populace. The army was also called to assist the administration in the cleaning up operations. This process has been completed in a number of villages. |

7. Water Supply arrangement
Water supply has been restored in all the areas affected by the tsunami. 500 Sintex tanks were sent to the relief centres as well as to the villages for providing safe drinking water. 5 Aquaguard water purifiers were put up on sponsorship places in the Government hospitals at Cuddalore, Parangipettai and Government Higher Secondary School, Cuddalore. In addition to this regular chlorination is undertaken in all the village habitations. |

10. Repairs of Boats
